SAMARITUAL: A QUANTUM CRAFT™ PRACTICE -

SAMARITUAL: A QUANTUM CRAFT™ PRACTICE -

SAMARITUAL is an off-disciplinary transcultural practice by Samar Younes.

It works through Quantum Craft™: a craft-based, artistic and embodied way of sensing, composing, and transmitting culture. Rooted in ancestral epistemologies historically sidelined by institutional hierarchies.

The practice moves across three ritual states: sensing (Catalyst), tending (Cultivator), and materializing (Creator).

It operates where disciplines break down, countering dominant systems that dilute complexity so new cultural forms can emerge.

PRACTICE CARTOGRAPHY

Samar Younes is a Beirut-born artist, theorist and ancestral futurist, whose practice works through craft, ritual, and emergent technologies as living materials. She developed Quantum Craft™, an entangled intelligence shaped through craft, material cognition, and lineage, engaging technological systems as mutable material rather than fixed destiny - where ancestral, ecological, artisanal, and synthetic knowledge are held in relation through Silk Road accumulation.

Trained in architecture and scenography at Central Saint Martins, and shaped by decades transforming environments across global cultural and commercial contexts, her work examines how lineage, provenance, and marginal knowledge persist within dominant systems despite forces of erasure, abstraction, and flattening. Projects function as living artifacts: mutable, circulatory, and unfinished, tracing how memory and culture move through bodies, materials, and technologies.

She works through SAMARITUAL, mentors at NEW INC (New Museum), and speaks internationally across spatial, artistic, cultural, and technological contexts. Her practice is often engaged at moments of systemic transition, where dominant hierarchies fail and long-standing forms of cultural intelligence -historically dismissed, feminized, or rendered illegible- reassert their necessity.Based in Brooklyn and Beirut.
